Yes, it is true... Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 is coming to the end of its supported life cycle. No more tax and year end updates... BUT there is always a bit of "Extended Support" available. So what does that mean?
Well, I guess the first thing we need to do is define the difference between "Mainstream Support" and "Extended Support". Review the chart below to see an example of the difference in support levels.
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010:
On October 10, 2015 the Mainstream Support level for Dynamics GP 2010 will end. There will be no more tax and year end updates for 2015. However, the Extended Support will continue through October 10, 2020 and you can see from the chart above that there will be a few drop offs in support level. You should also note that 2014 US Payroll Year End Update for Dynamics GP 2010 does NOT include Affordable Healthcare Act Changes. Please visit this link for more information from Microsoft: Affordable Care Act changes for Microsoft Dynamics GP
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013:
If you are a Dynamics GP 2013 user, then you have a fair amount of time left before your updates and support change or expire. Mainstream Support for Dynamics GP 2013 will end on April 10, 2018 and the Extended Support will not end until April 11, 2023. The same is true though for the Affordable Healthcare Act changes. Please review the link above to make sure you have the correct updates installed for your business.
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015:
Now obviously Dynamics GP 2015 is the latest version, along with its R2 update, so any changes to its support will not happen until April 14, 2020 when the Mainstream Support level ends. The Extended Support plan for Dynamics 2015 will end April 8, 2025. I sure hope I live long enough to see the end of support for Dynamics GP 2015!!
