In today’s blog, we are going to delve into customizing the Reading Pane in the PowerFind Add-on. PowerFind is an Add-on PowerObjects developed for Microsoft Dynamics CRM that allows users to quickly search across multiple entities, including accounts, contacts, and leads from one screen, thereby eliminating the need to search multiple areas of CRM to find the record you are looking for. One of the great features of PowerFind is that once the basics of the Reading Pane have been configured (i.e., all entities have the desired fields added on the Configuration Screen), it is possible to further configure the Reading Pane to better fit your business needs

1. To get started, first Navigate to Settings.

2. Navigate to Solutions.

3. Open the PowerFind solution.

PowerFind comes with a pre-configured Reading Pane for accounts, contacts, leads, and campaign responses. The fields in each area can be changed and manipulated. However, not only can fields be added and removed, the name of the displayed field can be changed to better fit with your business structure.

4. When you are satisfied with the Reading Pane, hit Save.

Here’s an example of what it would like before customization:

And here’s what it could look like after you customize it:

If you navigate to PowerFind and perform a search. The Reading Pane will now reflect the customizations.
